Distributed temperature sensing (DTS) system for fire detection

Embedded Trinius 520 measures temperature with 4°F (2.5°С) and 13ft (4m) resolution along an up to 5 miles (8km) long fiber optic cable in a real-time mode. It does not need any technical support during 5 years. This fiber optic cable is not subject to electromagnetic interference, chemical effects and the impact of corrosion. Only one sensing element is used for monitoring. It does not require any extra power supply along the entire length.


Fire alarm DTS system Optromix Trinius 520 could be used in any type of flammable media (gas, gasoline vapours, coal dust etc.) for the realtime temperature control:

  • Fire alarm on long spans (tunnels, factory shops, multistoreyed car parks)
